wooood.it

Wooood is an italian design studio and a joinery working only with wood cuttings.

For the sake of green design, we collect here some fine works of people who love recycling, upcycling or just make intensive use of materials, like us.
Enjoy!

  2. Parapu chair by Claesson Koivisto Rune
The brilliance shines through DuraPulp, a paper based material that is fully recyclable. Reinforced with PLA, plastic made from maize starch or cane sugar which binds with the paper fibers at 167 degrees Celsius, the result is a material that has the properties of plastic and the qualities of paper: water resistant, lightweight, yet surprisingly solid.

  3. Repurposed Rag Chair by Droog Design
“This chair is layered from the contents of 15 bags of rags. It arrives ready made but the user has the option to recycle its own discarded clothes to be included in the design. Each piece is unique; a treasure-chest of memories.”

  4. Endy by Studio Ve
Endy is made of leftover timber with painted ends. The painted wood comes directly from the saw mills, who paint the ends of the wood and discard it before it makes its way to the consumer.

  9. ecodsign:

The Rothko chair is entirely made of a composite material called Maderón, a mixture of resin and ground almond shells developed by a chemical engineer, Silio Cardona, from 1980. The shells were a waste product of the Spanish almond industry.
The Rothko chair is formed of two pieces of moulded Maderón: the front legs and seat are one piece and the back legs and seat back are made as another piece. They are joined together under the seat.
